Shop the look: I’m on a bit of a grey clothing kick lately, and I’m blaming it on the gloomy, cold weather we’re dealing with. (I refuse to make any 50 Shades of Grey references, though. Ick! Not a fan of that whole book/movie.) On a brighter note, though, it’s supposed to be beautiful weather next week! This grey dress I’ve had for a few years, and I tend to break it out during the fall and early winter. I… Read more »

Pride & Prejudice sweater

Shop the look:   It is a truth universally acknowledged that Pride & Prejudice is one of the best books ever written. I have been re-reading it at least once a year for about about the past 12 years. I am a really big Jane Austen fan, let’s just say. Pride & Prejudice is indeed my favorite book. And just like with my favorite movies, if I can find clothes that allow me to show off this love…you better believe… Read more »

Shop the look: I know technically you aren’t supposed to like villains. However, I think there are a few exceptions to this rule…starting with The Winter Soldier. Loki and Magneto would also fall into this category, but The Winter Soldier really holds a special place in my heart. He is just such a bad ass! (Excuse my potty mouth.) And it’s not as though he wants to be the bad guy…but before I get going on a rant I’ll switch… Read more »

Shop the look: I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! This year was actually the first year since my husband and I started dating that we went out and did something. We usually order a pizza and binge watch Netflix (say what you will, but that is our ideal evening). We dressed up fancy and went out for a nice meal this year because our days in Wisconsin are numbered. Therefore, we wanted to get out and enjoy as… Read more »

Shop the look: This isn’t the first time I’ve worn this dress on my blog. However, this time I’ve styled it to be cold weather friendly. Maybe it’s the white tights, but now I can’t help but think I was trying to look like Alice in Wonderland in this post. I was not a fan of Alice in Wonderland when I was growing up, though. It scared me, along with E.T. and The Wizard of Oz. (I know, I was… Read more »

Shop the look: It’s that time of year where dreams of flowers and warmer weather are dancing in our heads. However, there’s still snow on the ground, and there’s no end to the chilly temperatures in sight. This outfit is my attempt to brighten up my cold weather blues but still be warm and cozy. I love the embroidered peonies on this sweater and the bright reddish pink color. It’s a nice cardigan for spring, but it’s still warm enough… Read more »

Shop the post: I am really excited to show this dress off on my blog, finally. It is my absolute favorite dress, and I have been waiting for the perfect time to wear it. I really thought this weekend was it. However, Mother Nature did not agree. As you can see from the pictures above, I’m hiding in a doorway with the exact same pose in all of my pictures. That’s because it was less than 10 degrees Fahrenheit, which… Read more »

Shop the post: I’m continuing my theme from my last post, which is finding clothes you can picture yourself wearing 5 years from now. This outfit is primarily made up of clothes that are 5+ years old, as well. I have actually had this American Eagle sweater for longer than I could drive. That’s right, I’ve had this sweater since I was 15 years old…and it is still one of my favorite sweaters! I wear it every winter, and it… Read more »

Shop the look: Buy clothes you can picture yourself wearing years from now. Don’t buy something simply because it’s trendy. I know the less I worry about what’s in style, the happier I am with my fashion choices. Every single thing I am wearing in this post is 5+ years old, and I have worn nearly every single piece to death. This shirt is one of my favorites to wear in the winter. I’ll wear it for the holidays, going out… Read more »

Shop the look: I am a huge fan of Marvel Comics. So, imagine my excitement when I opened up a present that contained a handmade scarf, with a Marvel Comics print! My sister-in-law surprised me with it for Christmas (she knows me well). She had it made through a lady on Etsy. It is simply amazing and very well-made. This scarf is going to withstand the test of time. I love the pattern so much that I found a skirt… Read more »

Shop the look: For this outfit post I was required to befriend the local duck population. They were initially alarmed by my panda flats (I think, I don’t speak duck very well). However, after I fed them all of my Tostitos (don’t worry, they were the organic, low sodium kind), they realized my panda flats and I were no threat. We were then able to take pictures of my fun outfit, with no trouble from the ducks. This outfit is… Read more »

Shop the look: I’m on a hair accessories kick, right now. There’s just so many fun options! I’m especially loving hippie headbands. They look like fun, modern day crowns.  I’m not completely convinced I can pull it off (and my husband informed me he’s not a fan), but I figured I would give it a shot with this gold leaf headband. I picked it up at Rue 21 for a few dollars. I am definitely too old to be in… Read more »

Shop the look: My husband and I just recently celebrated our 2 year anniversary! I decided to get extra dressed up for the occasion, fascinator and all. I’ve always wanted a fascinator, but I never had the courage to buy one until a couple weeks ago. This is an inexpensive one from Icing that is very comfortable. It’s a good starter fascinator in, my opinion. It’s not too over-the-top, and it’s not too heavy. It’s stayed in my hair all… Read more »

Shop the look:   This is the first outfit I wore in 2015! And what better way to start off the new year than wearing Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year? If you haven’t heard yet, Marsala is this year’s color. (Don’t worry I just recently found out this was a thing, as well. Click here to learn more.) My Marsala colored cardigan is a Christmas gift from my mom (she has great taste). This is a wonderfully comfortable cardigan…… Read more »

Shop the look: I have a confession. I bought these tights for the sole purpose of matching this awesome purple lip gloss. I’m a bit surprised myself at just how much I love this vampy purple lip color. I don’t generally blog about makeup, just because I don’t feel this is an area I have much expertise. I mean let’s be honest, short of switching my lip color from nude to red on occasion, my makeup generally looks exactly the… Read more »

There are so many things in this post I love, I’m having a hard time deciding where to start. From the flower crown to the Jump From Paper bag to my fluffy sweater…it all makes me so happy! OK, I’ll start with the Jump From Paper bag, just because a lot of people don’t believe it’s actually real when they see pictures. I can assure you it’s very real, and it is so awesome! My husband surprised me with it… Read more »

Shop the look: Who says you can’t wear brown and black together? I’m not sure, but it’s something that’s been ingrained in my brain forever…that is, until I bought these boots. I haven’t bought a new pair of boots in a few years, but I really liked the way these looked…even if they broke the age old “don’t mix brown with black” rule. They are also very comfortable, and I really like the way they go with my cardigan. This… Read more »

‘Tis the season for ugly Christmas sweaters. I must admit, though, I don’t think my sweater is all that ugly. I honestly bought it because I think it’s cute and wanted to wear it for Christmas. I found this sweater at Target, and when I was checking out a lady started asking me about the “Ugly Sweater” party I was going to. I was confused and then a little worried about my taste in clothes, haha. Oh well! I love… Read more »

Shop the look: I’m another year older today! The pictures above are of my “birthday outfit” (not to be confused with suit, haha). I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday over the weekend. My husband had taken me out to eat to a lovely Mediterranean restaurant in downtown Appleton. (If you’re ever in the Appleton area definitely check out Il Angolo Resto Bar. It is the best restaurant in Appleton!) I couldn’t tell you the last time I had… Read more »

Shop the look: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, especially when Bosco is wearing a Santa suit. Don’t worry, he received many treats during this photo session and was a wonderful little model. His tiny Santa suit came from Burlington Coat Factory, and he surprisingly doesn’t seem to mind it that much (except when the hood is up). As far as dog clothes go, this seems to be a very well-made Santa suit. Bosco is most definitely the… Read more »

Shop the look: This cape-like sweater brings to mind images of Little Red Riding Hood, on her way her grandma’s house. While this sweater does not have the iconic hood, its stand-up collar is sure to keep you warm. I was actually on my way to meet me grandma (for Thanksgiving) in these photos. Haha. She and my grandpa live in northern Wisconsin near the tourist town of Minocqua. That’s why there’s so much snow in these pictures! This sweater… Read more »

Shop the look: Kitties and books are a couple of my favorite things in life. So, a sweatshirt of a dapper kitty reading a book is just not something I could pass up. This sweatshirt is easily my favorite purchase of the year. It is the most comfortable piece of clothing I own, and it’s obviously adorable. I actually bought this because I have another sweatshirt that fits exactly like this (except it has the cover of the Great Gatsby… Read more »

Shop the look: It seems as though we are always dealing with snow and cold in Wisconsin, so, being crazy for cardigans is a bit of a given. I would venture to say the majority of us gals living in the cold have a whole closet full of cardigans, but probably not many of them look like this one.

Shop the look: My go-to style of dress has always been, and will always be the A-line. It’s flattering, classy and I always feel comfortable in it. And my go-to colors have always been, and will always be, black and white. Lucky for me, this dress embodies all of my “go-to” fashion favorites. My husband bought this dress and these cute, retro heels for me for my birthday last year (how lucky am I?). This dress is so comfortable and… Read more »

Shop the look: I don’t know if anything goes together quite as well as polka dots and pearls. It’s cute, retro, classy and reminds me of Minnie Mouse (and who doesn’t love Minnie Mouse?). This outfit also gives me a wonderful excuse to wear a pair of red pumps. However, I have a love-hate relationship with bodycon dresses. They can be very flattering (when standing correctly and wearing appropriate underwear) and generally they come in cute prints. Every once in… Read more »

Shop the look: Cardigans, boots and scarfs are staples once the chilly winds of fall set in. This fun peacock scarf and bright cardigan are a sure way to stand out and still be cozy. This peacock scarf from ModCloth is my favorite scarf at the moment. It’s very unique and can be worn with a plethora of outfits. I’ve styled it with everything from sweatshirts to dresses, and it works. The material is high quality but not too heavy…. Read more »

Shop the look: I love Star Wars. Let’s be clear, though. When I say I love Star Wars, I’m referring to the originals… not those darn prequels with Jar Jar Binks in them. I also would like the world to be aware of my love of the original trilogy. What better way to showcase this, than with a one-of-a-kind Star Wars dress? I bought this dress off Etsy from a lady who makes them out of old Star Wars t-shirts…. Read more »

Shop the look: Say what you will of the garbage-rummaging raccoon, you won’t change my mind on how cute this sweater is. I don’t know if raccoon will be making their way onto the fashion scene with quite the zealousness of say… all things owl. I do, however, love cute, unique, novelty clothes, and this Sugarhill Boutique sweater embodies all of these things.
