blooper photos

The day is finally here! I’m sharing some of my best blooper photos for my blogiversary – which is coming up on Monday! I’m not going to lie, this was one of the hardest posts I’ve ever put together. Not because I’m so embarrassed to show these to you guys…I just had so many of them to choose from that narrowing it down to a decent amount was really difficult, haha. The majority of the photos taken of me look… Read more »

I don’t normally do these kinds of posts, but I thought this would be a fun one to take part in…especially because of my upcoming blog anniversary! It’s always great to reflect at this time of the year. The lovely Lee of “Lee Thrifts” tagged me in the “Get to know me – 4 things” tag. (Thank you, Lee!) And I loved reading through her answers! (Click here to see Lee’s answers.) So, here are my answers! Enjoy! Four Places… Read more »

longest lasting lipstick

While makeup is not the primary focus of my blog posts, I do wear lipstick for almost all my posts. And my previous try at a beauty post is actually what sparked the idea to do this one! I had many questions and comments about the lipstick I was wearing in my eyelash extension post. I also had a friend reach out to suggest I try a lipstick called LipSense. So, this post will be taking a look at all… Read more »

Swans

For one week every spring, my tiny hometown becomes a pitstop for flocks and flocks of majestic swans. Entire fields will be filled with these beautiful creatures for just a few fleeting days. I was beyond excited to see while I was driving today, that they are beginning to make their return. I had not been home at the same time as the swans for..oooh.. about 10 years. And at that time, I did not have a camera, or even… Read more »

Novalash eyelash extension

I don’t usually dab into the beauty world at all on my blog, but I really wanted to talk about my experience with eyelash extensions today! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably noticed I was in Minneapolis last weekend. This was because my friend Trina, the owner of Beyond Beautiful Salon, had invited me along while she taught a Novalash Eyelash Extension class in the city. Trina both applies the eyelash extensions at her salon and is one… Read more »

Living in a state with interesting weather, like Wisconsin, and hating treadmills means you have to be prepared for a variety of weather conditions if you’re a runner. One day it can be 50 degrees Fahrenheit and the next it’s below freezing. This post is going to take a look at running outfits I’ve worn in a wide range of elements. I’ve been wanting to do a post like this ever since I ran the Frostbite in Stevens Point, Wisconsin,… Read more »

I’m not one to make New Year’s resolutions or spend too much time dwelling on the past. And frankly, my favorite New Year Eve’s have been spent in my pjs with friends and family, watching TV. Last year, we spent it at a ski lodge in Michigan…which is about as fancy as my New Year has ever been (but I still was in my pjs before midnight, watching TV). Haha. The year before I watched an entire season of American… Read more »

I am really excited to tell you about Alterre’s giveaway, and how you can enter to win a pair of their shoes in this post! And these shoes by Alterre are actually really unique. You can change the look of your shoe by simply detaching the strap and adding a new one. How cool of an idea is that? And the shoe… Read more »

how to make a terrarium

Brace yourselves – I’m getting crafty for a moment! Today, I’m going to talk about how you can make your own terrarium in 10 minutes flat, with several easy steps. That’s all it took for me to make the one in the photo above. Also, if you’re on a budget this holiday season, these make fantastic budget friendly gifts. And no two ever turn out quite the same. I know I’m not usually posting any how-to posts or getting too… Read more »

painting class

I have to tell you all about an awesome experience I had over the past couple weeks! I had the opportunity to model for a painting class held by the Willingboro Art Alliance. It was so cool to be a part of and such a unique experience. A friend, who knows the teacher of the class, had passed my name along, and that’s how this all happened. This is also why I mentioned I had been wearing my colorful fall… Read more »

*This is a post I did last September that I am digging back up. And just a warning, this is not my usual outfit or travel post, so, prepare yourself. (I am just too excited not to share this with you all!) I have never been considered athletic or coordinated in my entire life. However, this past weekend I proved to everyone, and mainly myself, that with enough determination and hard-work I could be an athlete. I successfully ran my… Read more »

“When you play a game of thrones, you win or you die.” George R.R. Martin George R.R. Martin’s ability to build characters and tear them down, is absolutely unparalleled. When reading/watching the Game of Thrones series, your favorite character is never safe, and absolutely anything can happen in the blink of eye (literally anything, from direwolves to white walkers…there’s all kinds of crazy stuff). This series is also unique because the book series and the television series are both… Read more »

It took me a few tries before I was finally able to write this post. I guess I am just in denial that we are actually leaving Stevens Point, Wisconsin…which has been our home for the past year and a half. I’m probably going to be a bit of an emotional wreck by the time I actually finish it. When my husband and I first found out we were moving to Stevens Point, I remember being very disappointed and thinking “What… Read more »

I don’t usually get too personal on my blog. I try to keep the content light and fun. However, for this post I’m going to take the time to explain my life a little better. I think a good starting point will be my wedding. That’s what the above pictures are of. As you can see, we didn’t have the big fairy tale wedding with the white dress. We were married in a courthouse, and I went shopping the night… Read more »
