Notice how I am not wearing a jacket, sweater or any other cold weather apparel in these photos. Spring may finally have arrived, folks! It actually made it above freezing here, one day actually made it over 70 degrees Fahrenheit! And it even felt humid. So, it was finally time to break out the light colors and celebrate!

My pink pants I’ve had for a couple years, and I actually bought them at the same time as this top from a little boutique in Bricktown (a part of Oklahoma City). I’m not going to lie, they were an impulse buy at the time. It seemed like all of the cool kids had light colored pants, and I caved to the pressure and bought my own pair. Luckily, light colored pants for spring seem to be sticking around. (I was able to find an almost identical pair at ModCloth under their “New Arrivals” section just this week.) Not that it would stop me from wearing them anyways… they are so comfy, and are one of the few pairs of pants in my closet that currently fit me. (My legs and bum have been steadily increasing in size ever since I took up strength training. This only bothers me because the majority of my jean collection no longer fits me…but hey, now I can squat, deadlift and run sort of fast!)

I would also like to mention that I am really enjoying the Princeton area for its wonderful picture taking spots! I love the magical little area that these pictures were taken in. It felt like a scene out of Once Upon a Time. There are so many pretty spots here (that also have a lot of history).

There are a few things that have also surprised me greatly about my new living area, though. Traffic has been the biggest adjustment. In Wisconsin, the majority of people you encounter seem to think that people from Illinois are “crazy” drivers. However, I am here to tell you that Illinois drivers have absolutely nothing on New Jersey drivers. Now that I’ve been driving the lovely Highway 1 for a couple weeks, I no longer panic when I nearly get hit by a car (several times in a 5 minute drive) or see someone driving down the wrong lane at an intersection or that left turns no longer exist (and when they do, some one is bound to turn left on a red light) or when someone blares their horn at me because I am not driving like a crazy person. I also learned that it is illegal for me to pump my own gas in this state. Who knew? I sure didn’t. I went to fill the car up and had a guy come and holler at me! Whoops!

Overall, though, I’m really enjoying this new area! I can’t wait until the plants start blooming, Princeton will be absolutely breathtaking when that happens. I kind of feel as though we’re the last area in the country that spring arrived to.

*I’m curious, what’s the weather like by you? And are things actually blooming, or does it still look like fall (like it does here)? Let me know in the comments!

  2. Really like the tunic you are wearing. Very cute! Glad you can finally get some Spring outfits going on:) Driving sounds crazy over there! Sounds worse than LA.

    1. Thank you, Joanna! Oh boy, I’m not sure if it’s worse than LA…but it sure is exciting driving around here. Haha.

  3. Beautiful as always! 🙂 Still looks like fall here in Wisco… barely broke 40 today. No flowers. No leaves. Just a lot of confused robins. Oh, and when did Lia Sophia go out of business?!?! That’s crazy! I have a few pieces from them but I guess I didn’t notice that I wasn’t getting invited to jewelry parties anymore…

    1. You are for too sweet, Whitney! Ha! That was exactly what my grandma said, “Those poor robins are so confused!” She lives in Northern Wisconsin and they actually had 8 inches of snow on Monday and are supposed to get 8 more tonight!

Don’t quote me on this, but I want to say Lia Sophia went out of business about 6 months ago. I don’t personally love the business model of Lia Sophia, but I have to admit the couple necklaces I have from them are holding up really well…and I’ve had them since about high school!

    1. Thank you so much, Shannon! I don’t usually do much with my hair, but it was too humid and sticky to just leave it hang (like I usually do). Someday I will try more exciting hairstyles, outside of the normal straightening and curling world. 🙂

  4. Love this blush pants! It’s always fun to switch it up from blue jeans every now and then. Plus they’re so very feminine. Haha, still looking like Fall in PA. Plus its been raining and gloomy non stop lately. Crossing my fingers for spring to start soon!

    1. It sure is fun to switch it up! There are just too many fun options right now. I especially loved those bright pants you had in your latest post! And sorry to hear it’s still looking like fall by you. DC isn’t that far away from us and I keep seeing all of these beautiful pictures of the cherry blossoms, and the grass is hardly green here! What the heck? Haha.
