In The Land Down Under Outfit
Yippee! I made it! I’m finally in Sydney, Australia – the Land Down Under! It’s beautiful! As I’m sure you can tell from the photos. It seems surreal to be seeing the Sydney Opera House all the time, now. And I’m really enjoying the mild weather and the flat whites that every single coffee house carries!
Unfortunately, we didn’t do too much exploring our first weekend here… I had a heck of cold + jet lag + we had a whole bunch of issues with our housing situation. I’ll spare you all the gory details, but one of the issues was the “Internet that’s included” didn’t actually work. So, that was why there was no post on Wednesday (sorry!). I’m also a bit surprised by how hard WiFi is to come by in Sydney. Going to Starbucks or a local coffee shop was not getting me decent enough WiFi to even upload a photo to Twitter!
But it’s all sorted out, now! We have the Internet and our new apartment is marvelous! I’m looking forward to doing a whole bunch of exploring this weekend.
Anywho, this is supposed to be an outfit post! So, let’s talk about this here outfit. Funny enough, these Quay sunglasses and Salt Water Sandals that I’m wearing all the time are actually both Australian based brands. So, I had to wear them out in their natural habitat right away! 😉
And this dress was actually a gift from my mom when I was home. (Thanks, Mom!) It’s really a quality dress…I love that it’s lined. I received compliments on it right after I walked out the door. Someone even said the print looked “very Australian.” And the brand name is Evan Picone, which is one I hadn’t previously heard of. But I Googled it out of curiosity, and found there’s a whole adorable line at JCPenney right now. The fit and flare dresses are right up my alley! I never would’ve thought to look at JCPenney for this kind of dress.
Last but not least, my necklace is new as well! It’s from German-based fashion company Happiness Boutique. I was honestly quite shocked when I received it in the mail. For the price, I expected it to be like most costume jewelry (especially of the pearl variety)..which is usually kinda cheap looking and flimsy feeling. However, this is one well-made, statement necklace! I love it! And Happiness Boutique has so many cute necklaces right now. I’m already kicking myself for not getting one of their choker necklaces…which I’m seeing all the cool kids wearing these days. Next time! 🙂
And if you like my necklace, you can take 10% off your order at Happiness Boutique with code have-clothes-will-travel. This discount code is valid until October 27th!
Has anyone else heard of Evan Picone? Let me know in the comments!

I love your dress and have never heard of this brand.
