bondi icebergs

You might not have heard of Icebergs until now, but chances are you’ve seen photos of their iconic oceanside swimming pool. And to say they have some of the best dining views in Sydney, would be an understatement! I decided to dedicate an entire post to Icebergs Dining Room & Bar because it was one of the questions I was asked most when I was home for the holidays. “Have you been to that restaurant in Sydney with the oceanside… Read more »

Sydney sunset

*If you like this post, it is now available on iTunes as a self-guided walking tour! Click here to download it. Sydney is a city with some very unique activities and sights to take in. I mean, how many city’s activities include scaling a bridge to relaxing on a beach to seeing a show at the famous Opera House and even petting a koala? Needless to say, Sydney has a little bit of everything! Now, 3 days will mean you… Read more »

camel ride

One thing to be aware of before visiting Uluru in Central Australia is your entire trip will be based around sunsets and sunrises. And for me, personally, not being a morning person & needing obscene amounts of caffeine to survive…I find sunsets to be much more enjoyable! So, I really wanted to make our sunset experiences memorable when booking activities. After a little bit of research, I settled on a sunset camel ride for one night (because who doesn’t want… Read more »

Valley of the winds

After hearing I spent a few days near Uluru, most people are curious as to what I did exactly. After all, isn’t there just the big rock out there? However, even within Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, there’s an entire rock formation even LARGER than Uluru (Ayer’s Rock), that you can hike and enjoy. I would argue that Kata Tjuta is even more impressive than Uluru. However, like Kings Canyon (mentioned in this here post), it’s not well-known by us international… Read more »

map skirt modcloth

Shop the look: These are the only photos from my trip to the Australian Outback where you won’t see me sweating profusely in crummy, old workout clothes. Haha. Most of my time in Uluru was spent being active, but for this night, I had a special candlelit dinner in the desert to go to (there’ll be a separate post on that), and wearing my map skirt, once again, felt like the perfect occasion. (I love wearing this skirt when I’m… Read more »

sleeping koalas

Hopefully, no one is tired of koala photos just yet, haha. I honestly think one of my favorite things about being in Australia is that I have the chance to get close to koalas whenever I like! And this post will be sharing photos from the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium & Wild Life Sydney Zoo…so, there’s going to be a couple more koala photos! When my husband and I first arrived in Sydney we bought a Sydney Attraction Pass that… Read more »

QVB BUILDING

I’ve always been told nothing in life is free. And that is still technically true for the “I’m Free” tours. However, it is a pretty neat concept, in my opinion. The way it works is there is no set price, you just show up at the time the tour starts, and it lasts for about 3 hours. At the end of the tour you decide how much it was worth and then pay your tour guide accordingly. Pretty neat, right?… Read more »

sydney skywalk

Let me start this post off by saying, I am deathly afraid of heights and was pretty much in panic mode in every photo you see of me in this post. Haha. Obviously, I survived…so, there was no need to freak out. But I really hadn’t realized what Sydney Tower’s “Skywalk” all entailed when I signed up to do it with my husband. Sydney Tower is Sydney’s tallest free-standing structure. It offers amazing views of Sydney (obviously) and is one… Read more »

Sydney opera house

The Sydney Opera House is one of the first images that comes to mind when I think of Sydney… or even Australia. It’s an iconic building that is recognized worldwide (and is even a World Heritage site, now). So, needless to say, this was one of the first things we wanted to see when we arrived in Sydney…and we did check it out, but just the outside views. This past weekend was the first time we actually went to a… Read more »

manly beach

Manly Beach is a beach in Sydney that is best known for its surfing. However, I have zero interest to try surfing, thanks to having less than stellar coordination. Haha. But the surrounding area has some wonderful walking/hiking trails that offer outstanding views of the ocean and city…and the northern beaches are a bit calmer. (Right up my alley!) Side note: Manly Beach actually got its name because the guy who discovered it hundreds of years ago, thought the indengous… Read more »

Featherdale Wildlife Park

When I think of Australia, kangaroos, wallabies and gorgeous, natural scenery is what comes to mind. And don’t get me wrong, I love Sydney, but I’ve been dying to get close to a kangaroo and see some new views of the outdoors since I arrived here. So, thanks to our recent holiday weekend, my husband and I finally took some time to get out of the city center and get some fresh air! We took a bus tour from Sydney’s… Read more »

Sydney outfit

My days are completely messed up. I went all day thinking today was Monday…whoops! I then had a bit of panic attack, as I realized I had not yet posted this week’s Independent Fashion Bloggers Links à la Mode feature, and it’s already Tuesday night! But I’ll blame that mix up on yesterday day being Labor Day here in Australia…so, it was a nice long weekend here! It was also apparently Day Light Savings Time, which I was completely unaware… Read more »

We're moving!

Our visas are in hand, the flights are booked and our bags are (almost) packed! We are all set to fly out on Wednesday! I am in absolute disbelief that this is finally happening. We have been waiting for more than 5 months to move internationally, but the visa process has been a bit slow. Actually, that’s an understatement. We thought we would be moving back in January! And we’ve been trying for more than 3 years now to be… Read more »
