12 of the Best Jobs for People Who Want to Be in Nature

A monotonous office job is not everyone’s cup of tea. Some people love the environment that can entice and calm them, its nature. Now, doing something for landscape and having a career around it does sound exciting, but finding a job in this category is not easy. 

Some people have a job in mind, but college sets them off. Others usually cannot figure out which career path to choose. We have a bunch of jobs that people who love nature can do. 

1. Forestry

Forestry is one of the most motivating careers a nature lover can choose. It is the science of nurturing and cultivating trees. Another thing that makes this career enticing is to know the origins and scientific names of trees. Also, there are plenty of forestry courses and community colleges where you can get a professional degree. 

2. Organic Farming

It’s always more fulfilling to have something of your own. If you are facing difficulties in finding something nature-related, make your farm. In this ever-evolving world, organizations are going organic. Learning about the area and vegetation brings you much closer to nature. 

3. Land Surveyor

The land surveyor job is a perfect blend of nature and science. It’s the skill of mapping for various construction projects. You can always start with an assistant technician and learn on the job. In this career, you can be promoted to crew chief, which stabilizes your pay scale.

4. Wildlife Firefighter

Want something gratifying as a career? Be a wildlife firefighter. You won’t save nature but also human lives. Want to know a plus? You get to travel all around the US and some other countries. The compensation is fair, and you get to be a part of a team that appreciates you.

5. Landscape Gardener

Nature can bring joy to everyone. Why enjoy it alone? When you can have a career where you can create parks, green roofs, and garden beds around buildings. It demands creativity and brings nature close to urban life. Most businesses hire a gardener/landscaper, and you can easily show off your love for nature by planting flowers and nurturing greenery.

6. State Park Ranger

Being a park ranger is best if you want to work in the field. One person mentioned that working as a state park ranger is a special way to help the environment and wildlife. These committed people usually start out with hands-on tasks like keeping the park looking nice, making sure visitors are safe, and running the recreation areas. If they work hard and get experience, they might be able to run their own park or even a group of parks.

7. Tourist Guide

This particular job does not require any degree or qualification. However, research is necessary to know what to pick. Foraging is about hunting wild foods that restaurants prefer. What you will enjoy in this job is finding spots to forage and identifying the popular items that can sell.

9. Fisheries

Working at a fishery is a perfect career choice if you are interested in watersheds and marine life. You can major in this subject as its study also involves spending time in nature and collecting various water samples. Fulfill your love of nature and be robust in natural resources.

10. Arborist

Passion that can help people maintain their lives is the best, be it a natural life or a human life. If you are the one who specializes in woods, planting, and removing trees, arborist is the career path for you. You can identify trees that need to be reshaped, trimmed, and cut so they don’t damage electric wires. 

11. Environment Conservation Consultant

If you want to do various environment-related jobs, opt to be an environment conservation consultant. 12. Forest Ranger

In maintaining nature, wildlife plays a crucial role. Being a forest ranger allows you to go to the wilderness, maintain the trails, and collect trash. This job is mostly about keeping the land untouched by humans and protecting wildlife.
