We’re Moving Across the World Once Again!
Yep! We’re at this whole moving across the world thing again. I know, I know, I said we were staying in the States until AT LEAST Christmas, and we did just buy a house. But things changed…and boy, did they change fast.
All of our previous experiences with applying for visas have been incredibly long and drawn out processes. However, our visas this time were processed in just ONE DAY. It was nuts. We literally just booked our flights last night to leave on Monday.
So, now that our flights are booked and our visas were delivered to our front door a half hour ago… I can say with certainty we will be moving to Moscow, Russia on Monday for a project my husband will be working on there! We’ll likely be there for about a year.
We had thought this opportunity wasn’t going to work for us. However, just before we closed on our home, we were presented with it again. We were by no means forced into this. We knew what was going on before we went through with closing on our house, and decided we still wanted to go through with both. We didn’t, however, realize just how quickly things were going to move! But hey, that’s the way it goes!
So, yes, we will be keeping our house. Our families both live close and will be helping to keep an eye on it. (Thank you, guys!) Plus, my husband had all kinds of fun hooking up Nest and our high-tech security system, so we can also keep an eye things.
It will certainly be hard to leave now that we’ve been home for a while, and have gotten rather used to seeing our family and friends on a regular basis. But it’s also comforting to know that once we leave Russia, we’ll have a home close to them to come back to. We’ll actually get to come back in September for one of my best friend’s weddings. And then we’ll also get to spend Christmas at home. So, we won’t be gone for an entire year without seeing our families at least.
We are very excited to see what adventures are waiting in Russia! And it’s exciting to be just a hop, skip and a jump from places like Paris, Athens and Istanbul. So many places to see with so much history! We can’t wait.
As always, you can follow along on Snapchat and InstaStories to get our photos as they happen. And the blog schedule will remain the same…there’ll be new posts every Monday, Wednesday & Friday.
That’s all I know for now! We leave for Moscow on Monday! I’ll keep you all posted if anything changes.

Thank you! I really love it. And the Nest has been AMAZING. I can’t recommend it enough in terms of their cameras. However, the monthly plan is rather pricey.
