A Fashionista’s Style Guide to the Dos and Don’ts of Las Vegas Fashion

When it comes to Las Vegas and its many festivities, you get a little bit of everything. You have swimming pools, shopping, clubbing, dining, and of course, cocktails! With all these things to do, it makes Vegas the perfect place to show off your versatile sense of style!

Now, Vegas is also known for bringing out the wild side in people, which is why the slogan of “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” is fitting. That slogan is typically referring to the behaviors of its out-of-towner visitors, but when it comes to the world of fashion, that slogan can also be cross-referenced in your style choices.

Back to Life… Back to Reality

Once your wild shenanigans on The Strip has ended and you are back to reality, the worse thing you can experience is to look back at photos of your outlandish fashion choices and wonder who let you walk around in public wearing that outfit! The ultimate style goal for Vegas is functionality and fashion.

To prevent any fashion faux pas moments on your trip to Vegas, follow this style guide. It will tell you the dos and don’ts for Vegas-style and help you effortlessly transition from day to night.

Vegas-Style: Nightclubs

When it comes to partying in Vegas, you have to do it in style. You not only have to look the part but you also have to embody the whole package of style. If you want to turn heads, you need to party in Vegas like a true fashionista with free VIP club entry, bottle service, and access to some of the hottest music from up and coming artists!

Fashion Don’ts

When you’re in VIP at a Vegas club, the last thing you want to do is look like everyone else there. You need to stand out! On average, women who come to Vegas, whether it’s for a girls trip or bachelorette party, they always pack that same dress… You know the dress that’s really short and really tight… sometimes drenched in glitter, sparkles, and sequins… Leave that at home or save it for New Years, at least.

Fashion Dos

Be a fashion rebel and wear something you can actually move around and dance in… after all, you are in a club, and dancing is what you do in a club, right?! That’s one thing I never understood. Why women wear these tight outfits to dance in but can barely move in them because they’re so tight! A nice jumpsuit or romper would be ideal for any nightclub attire and can be a great timeless addition to your wardrobe.

Vegas-Style: Shopping and Sightseeing

Fashion Don’ts

Don’t wear high-heels the entire time you’re in Vegas. Did you know that the Las Vegas Strip is over 4 miles long? That’s a long time to be strapped in heels, especially when going shopping. There are so many shopping opportunities in Vegas that you’ll want to visit every store but you will eventually come to a point where your feet will want to give out!

Fashion Dos

Save your stilettos for the clubs and make sure you pack at least one pair of tennis shoes and a few flat sandals to comfortably walk around in. A lot of women are getting into the fashion trend of “athleisure” now too. If you absolutely must wear heels, pack a lower heel or “chunky” heel to make walking around more comfortable. Pair your chunky heel with a cute flowing dress and your feet will be so grateful when you slip on your stilettos later that night!

Vegas Style: Makeup and Beauty

Fashion Don’ts

When it comes to Vegas makeup, you don’t necessarily have to go overboard. The Kardashians might have made a killing on Vegas club appearances but that doesn’t mean you need to go into a bronzer and highlighter coma! You’re more than likely going to sweat it all off anyway.

The same theory goes for eye shadow. A lot of people think that in order to match the electrifying intensity of Las Vegas, they need to incorporate a smoky eye or overly dramatic eye makeup. Not always necessary. If you’re going to go that route, do it for the partying scene!

Fashion Dos

While you’re in Vegas, you, of course, want your makeup to be flawless but you also need to keep in mind that you are in the desert. So before you apply your makeup, be sure you apply sunscreen. You might even want to look for makeup that has sunscreen in it as well.

According to Vegas.com, Vegas experiences over 300 days of sunshine each year! That desert sun can be quite harsh on your skin, so before you throw on your sexy swimsuit and head out to soak up the sun, be sure to slather on some sunscreen and maybe even a hat. Not doing so can result in serious sunburns.
