“Peanut butter M&Ms if I’m driving. I can eat them slowly and it helps keep me alert if I’m going a long ways alone,” said one Reddit user. The crunchiness of the peanuts and trying to get them unstuck between your teeth will surely keep you awake if you’re traveling far without a companion!

Sour Patch Kids

Sour Patch Kids come in different colors, shapes, and even flavor themes – Watermelon, Lemonade Fest, Fire, Extreme, Tropical, to name a few. While most of these varieties appear on the message board at least once, you can never go wrong with the regular Sour Patch Kids with berry, lemon, lime, orange, and raspberry gummies.

If you’re a fan of contrasting flavors and textures, you might want to grab some Nerd Gummy Clusters the next time you’re at a gas station. These bundles of candy combine sweet and sour, and are crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. They come in Rainbow and Very Berry packs, but a tip to the wise: the Very Berry variation is a much more popular choice!

“The old Take5. The new ones definitely aren’t the same, with Reese’s peanut butter in them. They just taste like a peanut butter cup now,” says one comment. Many users mentioned Take5 on the message board, but they specified the Hershey’s version of Take5, not the revamped Take5 after Reese’s bought the candy bar. While the differences are minimal, the new candy bar is a little smaller, has more peanut butter and less caramel, and has thinner pretzels. Sometimes old really is gold.
