Shop the look: Kitties and books are a couple of my favorite things in life. So, a sweatshirt of a dapper kitty reading a book is just not something I could pass up. This sweatshirt is easily my favorite purchase of the year. It is the most comfortable piece of clothing I own, and it’s obviously adorable. I actually bought this because I have another sweatshirt that fits exactly like this (except it has the cover of the Great Gatsby… Read more »
Shop the look: It seems as though we are always dealing with snow and cold in Wisconsin, so, being crazy for cardigans is a bit of a given. I would venture to say the majority of us gals living in the cold have a whole closet full of cardigans, but probably not many of them look like this one.
Shop the look: My go-to style of dress has always been, and will always be the A-line. It’s flattering, classy and I always feel comfortable in it. And my go-to colors have always been, and will always be, black and white. Lucky for me, this dress embodies all of my “go-to” fashion favorites. My husband bought this dress and these cute, retro heels for me for my birthday last year (how lucky am I?). This dress is so comfortable and… Read more »
Featured Fashionistas is a new section I’ve added to Have Clothes, Will Travel that will highlight one lovely, fashionable lady each month. The Featured Fashionista can have a business, blog, etc. they would like to share with my readers, or just a love of fashion, or all of the above! I will spend some time putting together a highlight of the Fashionista, and if they happen to live close to me, I will also do a photo shoot with their favorite outfit. If… Read more »
Shop the look: I don’t know if anything goes together quite as well as polka dots and pearls. It’s cute, retro, classy and reminds me of Minnie Mouse (and who doesn’t love Minnie Mouse?). This outfit also gives me a wonderful excuse to wear a pair of red pumps. However, I have a love-hate relationship with bodycon dresses. They can be very flattering (when standing correctly and wearing appropriate underwear) and generally they come in cute prints. Every once in… Read more »
Shop the look: Cardigans, boots and scarfs are staples once the chilly winds of fall set in. This fun peacock scarf and bright cardigan are a sure way to stand out and still be cozy. This peacock scarf from ModCloth is my favorite scarf at the moment. It’s very unique and can be worn with a plethora of outfits. I’ve styled it with everything from sweatshirts to dresses, and it works. The material is high quality but not too heavy…. Read more »
Shop the look: I love Star Wars. Let’s be clear, though. When I say I love Star Wars, I’m referring to the originals… not those darn prequels with Jar Jar Binks in them. I also would like the world to be aware of my love of the original trilogy. What better way to showcase this, than with a one-of-a-kind Star Wars dress? I bought this dress off Etsy from a lady who makes them out of old Star Wars t-shirts…. Read more »
Shop the look: Say what you will of the garbage-rummaging raccoon, you won’t change my mind on how cute this sweater is. I don’t know if raccoon will be making their way onto the fashion scene with quite the zealousness of say… all things owl. I do, however, love cute, unique, novelty clothes, and this Sugarhill Boutique sweater embodies all of these things.
The seasons are changing and so is my hair. (Ha!) I’ve been a blonde for about 10 years, until this week. My good friend and stylist over at Beyond Beautiful Salon talked me into trying something different this time, and I’m sure glad she did. It was time for a change, my hair was getting rather see-through and damaged. I’m loving being a brunette, my hair seems so much thicker and shinier, but what do you think? Let me know… Read more »
Shop the look: At first glance this may not look like the most exciting outfit. Once you look a little closer, though, there are some rather unique aspects to this ensemble. My favorite part is the custom Octopus TOMS. I don’t have any particular love for octopus, but there’s just something about these TOMS! Obviously, TOMS are awesome and comfortable (and they come in wide!), but having a custom pair is so much more fun. I ordered this pair from… Read more »
Shop the look: Sailing may not be one of my hobbies, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love wearing nautically inspired clothes! The nautical look has been popular for quite a while, and after browsing some of my favorite clothes stores (OK, mainly ModCloth) it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.
An ancient city complete with fast food restaurants, taverns, brothels, mansions, running water, a market, an amphitheater and a port… doesn’t really sound ancient at all. However, the city of Pompeii is nearly 2,000 years old. It is hard to adequately describe how incredible it is to walk the streets of this wonderfully preserved city. Don’t worry, though, I have plenty of pictures.
This weekend was all about being comfortable. The only things I felt like wearing were my yoga capris and a sweatshirt (I’m still blaming the laziness on last weekend’s marathon). I had to go out in public, though, so a maxi skirt and loose-fitting dress were a nice compromise. (There are two separate outfits in this post.) It’s All Black & White
Shop the look: The trees may already be donning their fall colors, but that didn’t stop me from breaking out a summer dress one last time. I had bought this particular dress in an effort to break away from my favorite A-line style dress. I’m a bit of a prude when it comes to my clothes. I’ve never felt comfortable showing much for skin or wearing anything clingy. When this dress went on sale for less than $20, about a… Read more »
Shop the look: Here in Wisconsin, we are already reverting back to our normal chilly weather wardrobe. Summer was short-lived, but that’s OK, a comfy cardigan with peonies on it can brighten anyone’s cold weather blues. While summer will be sorely missed, it was nice to cuddle into a warm, soft sweater again and slip on a pair of jeans. This soft red colored cardigan, with little peonies embroidered on it, is wonderful. Not only is it adorable, it is… Read more »
Home to the Pope, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, countless extraordinary works of art in the Vatican Museums and yet, this country only has a population of about 800. This would undoubtedly make Vatican City the smallest country in the world. Don’t let its size fool you, though, there is an absolutely astonishing amount of history to explore in Vatican City. Many people seem to think you will not appreciate visiting Vatican City unless you are a devout Catholic…. Read more »
Shop the look: When visiting the absolutely amazing Lambeau Field, jerseys may be the normal attire. However, for my first “Lambeau Leap,” I made it a slightly more fancy affair. OK, so it wasn’t an actual Lambeau Leap…there’s a new bronze statue in front of Lambeau Field where fans can pretend they’re doing a Lambeau Leap (and it’s pretty awesome!). I should also point out I am a Cheesehead, and quite proud of it. Haha! For this special occasion, I… Read more »
When in Rome… it is completely acceptable to eat until the buttons burst off your pants, and it is impossible to not be completely immersed in history. There are so many incredible sights and restaurants to explore in Rome, you could spend your entire life here and not experience it all. My husband and I spent a little over two weeks exploring Rome. We expected this vacation to be an adventure but not necessarily relaxing. We were quite wrong. I… Read more »
There are skirts. And then there are skirts that make you want to twirl and skip through a park, not caring who’s looking. This skirt is definitely the latter. It’s incredibly comfortable and flattering. I love that it’s pleated and has little velvet fans on it (that title makes more sense now, right? Haha). I also love it because it’s a good “in-between” material… meaning it’s thick enough to put some tights on and wear in the winter, but not… Read more »
Two piece swimsuits tend to incite panic in most ladies (myself included), but with fun retro suits like this polka dot bikini… there’s no need to worry! The moment this swimsuit came in the mail, I threw it on and went to the lake and wore it for about 8 hours. It was comfortable for the entire time, and I never once worried about any part of my butt or chest being exposed in any way (wahoo!). Which is… Read more »
If I could, I would wear a sweatshirt every single day. There’s something so comforting about snuggling into a warm, fuzzy sweatshirt. And given that about 9 months out of the year in Wisconsin we’re freezing our butts off…having a warm wardrobe is a must. This hoodie is a godsend. It’s warm, soft, cozy and it’s actually dressy. I can wear this out-to-eat, to work, just running to the grocery store, or you know..a walk through the woods. And these… Read more »
Blue is not normally a color I gravitate to, but this dress and these shoes had me rethinking my favorite colors. This A-line dress is perfect for a summer wedding. It is a nice, light cotton that breathed well and wasn’t see-through. I was comfortable the entire day. And I received a ton of compliments on it! Stilettos are also not my usual footwear, but these were easy enough for me to walk in. I was able to wear them… Read more »
There were many things that surprised me about India, but the most amazing part of our trip was meeting so many unbelievably kind people. Everyone was so accepting and patient with us as they showed us the wonderful sights of India. It is an experience I will never forget. Wedding Festivities We made the journey here with some of my family for my cousin’s wedding. She was marrying a young man from Pune, India. The wedding festivities took roughly 4 days…. Read more »
After Foster City, our next move was to Oklahoma City. We arrived here just a week after the devastating tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma (a very short drive from Oklahoma City). It was heartbreaking to see the damage this tornado left behind. This was what sparked my interest in becoming a Red Cross volunteer. The volunteers were doing such a great job helping the displaced Moore residents. (However, I was not able to start volunteering until I returned to Wisconsin… Read more »
