Outfit Fun in Russia - Featuring a Nesting Doll Dress

Dress c/o* | Pumps | Cardigan (Similar) | Sunglasses (Similar) | Earrings An unspoken goal I had made for myself for this blogging year was to write about things that answer a question and people will find useful – not just whatever strikes my fancy. However, I think I’m going to be stretching that a bit with this post, haha. I’m not sure if many people will find themselves in Russia wanting to recreate this look or my photos –… Read more »

The Perfect, Vintage-Inspired Dress for Spring

Dress c/o* | Cardigan | Keds | Necklace | Earrings | Sunglasses (Similar) I’m taking a little break from heavy sweaters, coats and boots to feature the most perfect, vintage-inspired dress for spring! Thanks to my little weekend getaway to Tel Aviv, Israel…I was actually able to experience some amazing, spring weather. It was glorious! The trip to Tel Aviv itself was a cool, yet complicated experience to say the least, though. Some parts were amazing, while others will go… Read more »

Tatyana Boutique Miranda Flannel Dress

Dress c/o* | Heels | Tights | Necklace | Bag I have vehemently turned my nose up to the likes of flannel fabric and plaid prints all my life. I don’t really have a good reason for this other than I think it has to do with where I grew up. Flannel and plaid are pretty common in my small hometown in Wisconsin…almost everyone wears them. And maybe subconsciously, I wanted to be “different.” Good grief was that silly of… Read more »

Tatyana Fan skirt

Skirt (on sale!!) | Heels | Top (similar) | Cami (on sale!!) | Watch c/o* | Necklace (similar) The award of “Best Skirt in My Closet” is one I don’t give lightly, but this skirt has been out doing itself for almost 6 years! This skirt came along and swept me off my feet the moment I laid eyes on it…and it still makes my heart race when I see it in my closet. With those little velvet fan appliques,… Read more »

Tatyana Fan Skirt

Click to shop: A few months ago I had lamented my pain at being separated from this fan skirt while it made its way from our apartment in Australia to our new apartment in Argentina. It took quite awhile, but it did make it! And I was very excited to have the chance to style it again so soon. I usually wait a little longer before featuring the same skirts and dresses, but I had a really fun reason to… Read more »

As I’m writing this post, I’m also crossing my fingers and toes hoping I get to wear this outfit again in the near future. All but one lonely suitcase was packed up when we left Sydney and shipped via a moving company…with the disclaimer that it could be up to 6 months before I see any of it again because customs in Argentina inspects each thing by hand that comes in….among several issues with importing goods and our visas. (Eeek.)… Read more »

I’m trying something a little different today, instead of a whole new outfit post… I’m taking a look at how I styled one of my favorite skirts, 4 different ways. I actually re-use my dresses and skirts pretty frequently on my blog, but I’ve always tried to not call too much attention to it. For some reason, it made me feel like a “bad blogger” to not have a brand-spanking new outfit each time I post. But it’s just crazy… Read more »

Tatyana Boutique fan skirt

By the time I was done taking photos for this post I could hardly stand up straight because I was so dizzy. Haha. But my husband was determined to get at least one photo of me twirling in this skirt where I didn’t look like I had just escaped from a mental institute. This skirt is a blast to twirl in, so I didn’t mind spinning around hundreds of times…even if I had an audience. I was in Central Park… Read more »

Shop the look: I absolutely love this green skirt, with its little velvet fans. And I really wanted to show you all how fun this skirt from ModCloth is. So, I had a little dance party in the driveway all by myself. Haha. I included some blooper photos of me really looking like a fool, (they’re at the end of the post) to show how about 90 percent of the pictures taken actually looked. (Hence, why the neighbors are a… Read more »

There are skirts. And then there are skirts that make you want to twirl and skip through a park, not caring who’s looking. This skirt is definitely the latter. It’s incredibly comfortable and flattering. I love that it’s pleated and has little velvet fans on it (that title makes more sense now, right? Haha). I also love it because it’s a good “in-between” material… meaning it’s thick enough to put some tights on and wear in the winter, but not… Read more »
