Where are all my shoe-lovers? Today, I’m sharing 20+ fabulous shoe photos to get you excited for the Paine Art Center’s latest exhibit!

From now until October 10, 2021, the “Walk This Way: Footwear from the Stuart Weitzman Collection of Historic Shoes” exhibit is at the Paine Art Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Visiting the Paine Art Center is one of my favorite things to do in Oshkosh!

This exhibit was organized and first presented by The New-York Historical Society and features more than 100 pairs of shoes from iconic designer Stuart Weitzman’s private collection.

Explore how shoes have transcended their utilitarian purpose to become representations of culture—coveted as objects of desire, designed with artistic consideration, and expressing complicated meanings of femininity, power, and aspiration for women and men alike.

The “Walk This Way” exhibit is also accompanied by the “Star-Studded Soles” exhibit in the Paine’s Gothic gallery. This collection features autographed celebrity shoes from Britton’s Walk-Over Footwear in Oshkosh. The collection began in 2008 during the filming of Public Enemies in downtown Oshkosh when Britton’s loaned a pair of vintage shoes to the production and then was given a pair of shoes worn by Johnny Depp in the movie!
